Overview

Retained in most part from the previous model year, the 2008 Express Cargo Van comes in six main trims – G 1500 Regular Wheelbase AWD and RWD, G 2500 Extended and Regular Wheelbase RWD, and G 3500 Extended and Regular Wheelbase RWD. There are seemingly innumerable sub-trims among these trims, including YF7 Upfitter, Y3G Mobility and Y3H Paratransit.

Powertrain and warranty

The 2008 Chevy Express Cargo Van comes as a three-door and four-door full-size van accommodating two passengers. Among its six trims, the G 1500 Regular Wheelbase AWD has a 5.3-liter, V-8 engine that produces 301 horsepower; while the G 1500 Regular Wheelbase RWD has a 4.3-liter, V-6 engine producing 195 horsepower. Among the other trims, the G 2500 and G 3500 come in three combinations – a 4.8 liter V-8 generating 279 horsepower; a 6.0-liter V-8 that gives out 323 horsepower; and a 6.6-liter V-8 with 250 horsepower.

Across the large number of models, are a number of interior and exterior features that Chevy has incorporated for this model. Some are common for some models, while some are optional.

Safety Features

Driver and passenger air bags, and side-guard door beams are among the standard safety features across models. Optional features include side-head curtain air bags; panic button or alarm; vehicle anti-lock lockout device; locking fuel filler door or cap; and selective locking and unlocking. Many of these features are standard or optional, depending on the trim one chooses.
