Chevy’s 2008 Colorado is smartly engineered to be powerful, efficient and durable. Colorado is a little changed for 2008 as it received new engines in 2007. If you are looking for a versatile, rough and tough body, the Colorado truck will be the perfect match. You can choose from regular cab, extended cab or crew cab models. All the Colorado models registered in the US are entitled to a new vehicle limited guarantee for three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. These power machines are painstakingly built to resist corrosion.
Engine and Performance
Colorado regular cab comes in five trim levels: LS, 1LT, Z71, Work Truck and Chassis Cab. The Chassis cab comes with a 3.7-liter engine generating 242 horsepower at 5600 rpm, and 242 pound-feet of torque at 4600 rpm. The pistons and rods are lightweight to help the engine run comfortably at high rpm and produce more power. All other trims feature a 2.9-liter engine generating 185 horsepower at 5600 rpm, and 190 pound-feet of torque at 2800 rpm. Variable valve timing (VVT) offers a number of advantages over conventional valve timing in areas of power, efficiency and emissions; it also helps to produce near-peak levels of torque over an extended range.
Build and styling
The Colorado has a muscular frame, rugged good looks and typical Chevrolet styling accents. Standard equipment includes air conditioning; a tilt steering wheel; cruise control; and folding exterior mirrors. Optional features include fog lamps; leather seats; and a sliding rear window. The Colorado is available in both rear-wheel and four-wheel drive. The Colorado regular cab has seating capacity for up to six passengers. This versatile truck is offered in three different suspension packages, along with a long list of options. It is really a brilliant appearance package from the house of Chevrolet.
